Christmas Eve

We all got together at the Kieta's for Christmas Eve and had a Delicious Mexican Dinner! We were all assigned to have our families do some sort of entertainment for everyone! And everyone who knows our family, knows that we have NO talent! Fortunately my mom gave us some musical pipes last year for Christmas. So, we blew everybody away with our sweet rendition of O Christmas Tree. NOT! We had fun! We enjoyed watching everyone else do there skits/songs! We played games, opened gifts, & Grandpa told stories. I can't forget to mention "Cool Uncle David", he taught all the kids the Heel-Toe. They really got a kick at out that! :)

We had such a fun night at the Kieta's! We had a really yummy dinner, and then sat around the fire pit! We got all cozy and waited for the boats to ride by and show off there lights! The weather was perfect! For years I have wished for snow during Christmas! But, I must say.. I am loving this weather we have been having this December! It has been beautiful! I am grateful to be outside almost everyday!It is so nice!

We have Dinner, a visit from Santa, and the story of Jesus' Birth is read to us while the kids participate in creating a Nativity scene. Grandpa Wyatt and Josh took the boys to a cave looking for rattlers! I guess the last time John went, he stepped foot in the cave and heard tons of rattles. This time..no noise! So, they went deep into the cave looking for them! Not one! They did however find the skin of a snake and Grampa thought it would be funny to come home and scare Grandma with it, while she was taking a shower! Not cool!!

The Kids had Crazy Hair day at school! I don't know why I forgot to take a picture of the back of Luke's hair! It was the coolest! Oh well! Hunter wanted in on the fun too! For some reason, poor Jake thought his teacher said their class wasn't allowed to color their hair. Although I knew that couldn't be the case, I couldn't argue with a child who insists that teacher knows more than mom. So, he missed out on the fun, and he was sure sad when he walked into his class and discovered that he obviously misunderstood! :(

First Day of school 2010

First of All. Let me just put out there. Luke dresses himself. They all do! But, Luke will not take any advise from me. Even if the skinny jeans are a year old and too short! He loves them! I can't break his heart! Summer started round two of Kindergarden with Ms. Sherwood, Jake started 2nd grade, and Luke is my BIG 5th grader! Prayers are answered people! School has begun!! :) I do have to make a note that my two boys transferred over to another school after three weeks at our home school! They love their new school! Gateway just wasn't providing Luke with what he needed to be successful! We are so happy witht he way things turned out! Summer will join her brothers in first grade!

We had one last trip down to California this Summer for Chloe and Colins' Baptism! We had such a fun time! Amy took us to Wild Rivers, Kevin and Papa took the boys to the Angels Game, and we met the Colby's at the Beach! The weather pretty much sucked this summer in California. But, it's always fantastic being with family and being surrounded by the beauty! Yes, I am very fond of smog! :) We are always spoiled by everyone around us when we go to Cali. And with Josh being in school, that is the ONLY way we get to vacation! We are very grateful for family on both sides, who have helped support us in this way! :)

We were able to go to an after party at the Benson's Bishops' beautiful home afterward. Talk about getting in your hillbilly car afterward! GEESH!! Seriously though, they have a beautiful, and most gracious ward, I wish them the best! I hope there testimony and faith continues to grow!

Such a fun trip! If I ever find our pictures from our earier Summer trips..I will post them! :)

Once again.. Jake didn't want a party for his birthday! The attention is just way to embarrassing. Instead he invited a couple of friends to go to the movies with him and come have pizza and cupcakes afterwards. Then on his birthday we had a big birthday breakfast where we made green and blue Swedish pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs. All of Jakes favorites! I love my little man! He is the sweetest!!

Our trip to Cali was short but wonderful! The beach was great fun! Hunter and Keely played with a bucket the entire time, it was great! The rest of the kids had a blast playing in the water and boogie boarding! We also got to go river rafting at Kern River with my sister. Oh my gosh.. what FUN!! I can't wait to go back. Everybody there was so nice and it was so awesome rafting. I understand now why my sister rarely comes home from the river now for the past four years!!! I will post the river rafting pics as soon as I find them! :)

Scorpion Hunt

We decided it would be fun to go hunting for Scorpions! The kids have there cousins visiting from Cali. Colin decided to sleep here tonight. He knows we have found SO many in our home! Colin was getting tired and jumped in bed. Before he pulled up the covers. I said "Wait.. let's check for Scorpions." Bad move on my part... I think I worried him a little! So, we decided we would venture outdoors with our black light and search for them. We found TWO! One of them being right outside our door inches from our window and one next to the pool! Yikes! GROSS! YUCK! EWE!! I do not like Scorpions. But searching for them is REALLY cool! I should have turned the flash off of my camera, so you can see them glow! VERY COOL! After seeing them the boys realized they are not so much scary, as they are just really UGLY!

June 1st my little Summer turned 5! I absolutely love this GIRL! Summer is so full of energy and life! She has the sweetest spirit! (just don't get on her bad side) She is the very opposite of me! I am so much a homebody! But this girl could party all day and night if you let her! She is happiest when she is shopping, swimming, dancing, bouncing, swinging, or riding her bike! She is completely a mommy's girl!

Jake's Last Day Of School

I can not believe Jake made it through Kindergarten! WOW! I am so proud of him, and how far he has come! He entered Kindergarten not even being able recognise all of the letters in the alphabet, or sound ANY of them out. He also started Kindergarten terrified of adults, and kids. He would never talk to any other kids that he did not REALLY know well. Too often we would be at the park or some play land and other children would want to play with him. Not only would he run from them, but he would completely ignore a friendly "HI" offered by others. His team mates on his baseball team last year would always try to play with him and hang out with him. But again, he would not respond at all! I am happy to say, that not only is Jake a reader now. He actually plays and interacts with kids ALL the time, and does so much better responding to adults he does not know. He got an award at the end of the year for being a good friend to everyone. May sound little to you, but to us.. that was HUGE!

Josh is now officially old! I am SO glad that I am not 32! :) Josh wanted to go camping for his birthday, and we had such a good time! The campsite was perfect & beautiful, and the weather was nice & cool! We all had a really good time! Thanks to all who could make it! Josh now has his camping needs met for atleast another year. (ha ha)

I had a perfect Mother's Day! I slept in, woke up to a massage, had breakfast made and cleaned up by my husband. Came home from church and played games with my kids! Josh invited my sis and bro over for dinner, that he cooked, and cleaned up. Then we all had homemade icecream! It was the BEST! I have to admit, that I did feel a little bad that Josh was working non stop and not allowing me to help at all! But, it really was a stress free wonderful day! We had a lot of fun California! It was too short, but well worth it! I drove out there with the kids Thursday night, and Josh flew in on Friday night. Friday we went to the Observatory in LA and it was so much fun! I totally remember going there in Elementary School on Field Trips. I forgot how absolutely beautiful it is at the top of the hill. My kids were SO excited to see the "HOLLYWOOD" sign too! We got to spend time with my brothers who were down visiting as well! I will post more pictures of the trip when I get them from my bros. Easter was a lot of fun! We had a huge Easter Egg hunt with all the family and the Lowders. Summer loves Jolie, and we love Chris, Nushean, and little William, so it was a great time! I miss ALL my family and wish we could all live close! Thanks Mom & Dad for all of the fun, food, and work that went out, for a wonderful time!

Sleeping Beauty and ouchies

We had such a busy Saturday! It started out fun as ever! My mother n law bought tickets for all the girlie's to go see Sleeping Beauty at the Hale theater. It was such a cute play, and the girls had so much fun! We went out to lunch at Cafe Rio afterwards for the most delicious lunch! Then hurried home to prepare for a small dinner party of which they were all to be there at 4:30. As Josh and I were busy cleaning, and setting up. Summer had the brilliant idea to climb a tree holding a golf club. We are not clear on the details, but somehow she fell off the tree and the golf club hit her nose. I hear her screaming from the pool, so I ran back to the house. Luke tells me that Summer is hurt REALLY bad, that she is bleeding from her eyes. I run into the bathroom, where Josh is inspecting the damage. He says's ," There is a hole in her face down to the bone". I being the pathetic mom I am, so afraid of blood and guts. Just yell into the bathroom "It's OK Summer, you'll be fine". While she is screaming for her mom to hold her! But, I just couldn't stomache seeing her her until Josh had bandaged her up! Turns out she did have a deep hole, but only needed four stitches. Summer was so brave, she said the stitches didn't even hurt! I hurried home from the ER, to my wonderful and capable husband hosting the party without me. Of course that is with the help of my awesome sister Candis, and sweet neighbor Melanie. Summer has been given lots of TLC from our family. Thanks Stef and Grandma for the get well gifts. We are so grateful to have so many thoughtful people in our life.

We did it

We have all been sick and have had lack of sleep to say the least! But, we did it! Okay, so it was only a 3K. But when your sick the only thing that sounds fun, is sleep! But, we made ourselves get out of bed, and we did it! It was so much fun!

Luke got second place in the 3K. My guess is that there were AT LEAST two hundred people people doing the 3K. Josh and I were so far behind, we didn't even get to see him come in for the win!

We also got to hear Josh's brother Dan and our brother in law Geoff's band! They did SO awesome! Josh and I were really impressed and enjoyed hearing and watching them!

Jake had to stay with Candis because he couldn't stop coughing, and the cold only seems to make a cough worse. We definitely wished he could have been there with us! It was such a great experience!!

Great job Jamie for ALL your hard work! We are so proud of you! Your love and service for those girls is definitely inspiring! I know that not many people will know all the sweat, and tears that went in on your behalf. Your AMAZING!!

He's going to Die

My poor little man Hunter has been sick with a high fever for about 3 days now. He started to get a rash yesterday and was still really grumpy. So, Josh took him to the Dr's tonight. Turns out, he has Scarlet Fever and Strep. He has a swollen tongue, and a rash on his tongue which the Dr pointed out! (my bad) Anyway, Luke overheard me talking and got very upset that Hunter has Scarlet Fever. You see, he did a report on Thomas Edison and remembered reading a book that said Thomas got very sick as a young boy and almost died from Scarlet Fever. Luke was all teary eyed and said "He's going to Die!!" Fortunately, we have antibiotics and he will be okay! He is making a get well card for him right now! How sweet!!

Zoo

My mom finally came to visit last week! We were all so excited she was here, and so sad when she left. We went to the zoo on Friday. I'd like to say I had a ton of fun, but I wore the WRONG shoes for chasing four children! Plus, my body was still recovering from taking some ugly meds prescribed by my wonderful doctor! All that aside, at least I got to spend the day with Mom, Candis, Keely and my kids!

I also threw in a couple of other pics. Luke, with his most amazing first grade teacher Mrs. Schneider. We met her for dinner last week! She is always so much fun. And Luke adores her, so it is always a delight to spend time with her! The other random picture is of Summer's hair. Candis and I had fun doing her hair Saturday night. Good thing she has an auntie who is all cute, and girly.. so Summer can have cute hair once every couple of years! :)

Silly Mountain

Seriously... it really is called Silly Mountain. I am so proud of myself!! I am not usually the outdoorsy type. But, the fact that I could get to the top of a mountain in half a mile ..... no problem! Josh had to stay home, still recovering from donating blood! :) And Hunter had a fever, so he stayed as well. So, just me and the three kids decided to conquer Silly Mountain. It was a beautiful clear day. The kids had a blast! Not, one fight! AND, they actually were helping each other out. I think I might have found a new love for the outdoors.

We went to Josh's parents Cabin for a couple days and had a great time. Well, we had a great time, but everyone else was quickly sick of our kids. We got to go sledding which was a blast and played games, and went for fun nature walks. I kicked my mother-n-law, and my sister-n-law's butt at one of the games. That was REALLY fun! :) Then the next day when my butt was getting kicked... I quit!! Well, I didn't really quit, I had to tend to my naughty child. Sorry Stef.. I know you really won. Well.. Thank you to the N-Laws for a very fun and much needed breath of fresh air in the mountains, and being patient with my very enthusiastic children!

We tried now on three different occasions to get a cute Christmas card.We tried screaming, bribing, begging, and threatening. Nothing worked! Needless to say, we failed miserably. All I can say is that I am done with Disneyland for a while! Fun.. for my kids, but not so much for me anymore! Hunter was finally tall enough to ride Materhorn. I almost got whiplash trying to turn around and watch him. Well worth it though. He looked adorable! What a crack up it is to watch his little face. He couldn't decide if he was scared out of his mind, or enjoyed the fast ride!

Jake turns 6 today!

Jake is our most complicated child in many ways! He is one of those mysterious guys hard to figure out, and really hard to read! But, he is the greatest! Of all my kids, he has been the easiest to please! He has such a dominate older brother who dictates when the kid can even breathe. So, he has just learned to be a little pleaser. Most of the time, he takes last pick, or he's the last to play. He has just learned that it's easier to wait for what you want than to get beat up by your big brother! Sad.. but true! Poor guy always hears me say just a minute Jake, wait Jake, almost Jake. Only because I know that he is the most patient and the least likely to scream at me for having to wait! He makes my life so much easier, and I appreciate him so much for that! Most people who know Jake, know how incredibly shy he is. He didn't want to have a party because he was too embarrassed! There was no way he was going to have that many people over with their attention on him. He actually refused!! He won't even talk to me when I go to his school. The kids all laugh and say "He is so shy", because he wont even acknowledge me. He told me that I am embarrassing because I talk TOO much and to everyone. :) OUCH!! Most people don't get to know his real personality. He is a funny, goofy little boy! He is also a very sweet little boy! He is definitely a daddy's boy though. Whenever our family wrestles. Which is started by mommy and daddy wrestling. It is always Luke, Summer, Hunter and I against Jake and Josh. The team NEVER changes. It's very cute! I am glad that Josh has one child who is loyal! :) Although, I am working hard for Jake to come to the other side! Well, in a nut shell. Our family LOVES Jake! Luke might be hard on him. But, they are best friends!! They do everything together. And Luke is his little comforter at school and on the bus. Jake is so happy to have an older brother to protect him. Typical brothers.. Nobody but ME is allowed to mess with MY brother! :) We love Jake and we are so grateful he is in our family!!

A little more Halloween Fun!

Gotta love Halloween time! So much fun w/ family & friends! And YES, that is Josh in the weird purple wig. Every year he wears his Mc Donalds shirt from the 70's. He had already worn it to several parties (and won a costume prize at one). He was ready for a change. And this was his big change!! (He's a rock star if you can't tell) I know.. he went all out! We made do!

Halloween Night

Halloween was lots of fun! We went to Josh's mom's neighborhood. They go ALL out! We went with some of the cousins. Hunter has a cousin the same age. It was cute to see them trick or treat together. Luke was a speed trick or treater and always about two houses ahead of us. On our way home we got to see fireworks. Fun night!!
